A lack of balance can be caused by a lot of different things. It may be an inner ear infection; it might have been caused by a stroke or seizure; it might be a blood clot on or near the brain... Only your vet will know for sure. Don't panic, but get the dog to a vet as soon as you can. Blood work and scans of the head and brain may help determine what the trouble is. Good luck.

Epilepsy can mostly be controlled! Take her to the vet but she probably just needs some meds. My cat has seizures but there's no reason to think that's the end of the world or a reason to put an animal down. Don't panic. Go to the vet though. I bet she'll be fine.

This is not a 'search online' or 'ask yahoo answers' question. This is a rush to the vet ASAP. If you don't know of an emergency vet, call your regular vet and they should have a recording with a referral.

Your dog may have had a seizure, a stroke, been poisoned, or could have even had a spinal injury of some sort. There are so many things that it could be that it would be irresponsible of me to guess at a diagnosis and of you not to rush her to the vet. If it's something serious, she could die. Get her to the vet ASAP. Good luck to you both. My thoughts are with you.

Edit: Yay, I see my stalkers have joined us tonight, negging all my answers again. Guys, I know that you want attention, and it's like pulling my pigtails because you love me, but really, I'm sorry, but I'm just not interested in you like that. I prefer my lovers to be smart and mature. I know, I know. Such high expectations. But please, you are just wasting your time following me around and trying to woo me. Please, spend your time reading the AKC breeder guidelines or something to expand your horizons. : )

Flower, I'm sorry that this infiltrated your question. Again, my thoughts are with you and your dog.

It's possible she has Epilepsy. My sister and brother-in-law had a German Shephard who had epilepsy. He was on medication for it, but continued having seizures so they had to put him down. Very sad. I would recommend that you take her to the Vet's as soon as possible. It may not be epilepsy. I will say a prayer for your dog so that she will get better.

Not to say your dog has the same as mine had, but she would like be disoriented for a couple of seconds and then be fine. After a couple of times of noticing her do that I took her to the vet and she was anemic, she had lost so much blood, every time she peed she was peeing blood. So please get your dog to the vet tomorrow. Mine didn't make it, maybe you can catch it in time to save her.

Go to the vet!
My dog has had seizures too for some reason, but she's fine.
Just still, play it safe and take her to the vet.

It's spelled "seizure". She may have had a stroke. In any case, get her to the vet!
