the term 'Christian', was a derogatory term to label the followers of Jesus.
As such, it was intended to berate those that followed the fullfiment of the law(Jesus).

Matthew 16:17-19 clearly states that Jesus inteded to build a new church (religion):

The followers of Jesus Christ were not call Christian and their new religion Christianity until several years after Jesus' death and resurrection.
According to Acts 11:26 "it was in Antioch that the disciples were first called Christians."

Jesus is an English translation of the name Yeshua.
Christ is His title meaning, the Messiah, or the anointed one.

His name is Jesus, Christ is who he is. The book of Acts, is where you'll find the first place the word Christian is used. It means, "the people of Christ"
