Firehawk was a OEM (Original Equipment Manufacture) modification of the Pontiac Firebird made by SLP Engineering that spanned from 1992 through 2002. It was added to Formula Firebird from 1992-2002 on hard-top or t-top models and convertibles starting in 1995. Trans Am Firebirds were added from 1999-2002 and the option was available on hard-top, t-top and convertible models. There were no Firehawks produced in 1998 due to a the f-body styling change and a manufacturing issue with SLP.

To give a general answer to your question between a standard Trans Am and Firehawk (assuming Trans Am Firehawk), I will assume years 1999 through 2002 since that is the only years for a Trans Am model. Base modification included:

*) New hood with functional scoops and hood-mounted heat extractors
*) New Performance Exhaust System with dual-dual tips
*) Upgraded suspension components
*) 17"x9" lightweight aluminum painted wheels
*) Firestone Firehawk P275/40/17ZR tires
*) Firehawk front fascia badge
*) Firehawk exterior graphics on doors and rear fascia
*) Firehawk dash plaque and two keyfobs
*) SLP High Flow Induction System on late 2002 models

Then there were lots of Firehawk options depending on the year, here is a general list:

*) Differential Upgrade
*) Suspension Upgrade (two different levels of upgrade, including the 1LE)
*) Chrome-Plated Wheels
*) Rear Deck Lid Upgrade
*) Firehawk Floor Mats
*) Firehawk Car Cover
*) Commemorative Portfolio
*) Lubricants Package

The advertised performance numbers varied depending on years (as GM numbers varied as well), but where generally 10-15hp more than the WS6 option.

The Trans Am Pontiac is the top of the line then Firehawk, the well placed nostrils versus the recessed foglamps of the Trans Am. ... many times I've passed a Firehawk without realizing it wasn't a base Trans Am. ...www.tripletransam.com/WS6/WS6_new.html - 5k - Cached - More from this site
