Hey, I hear Jesus was born in a cave and burried in a cave. Thus Christianity is the only real caveman religion.

All major religions come from thousands of years ago. They were invented by people who knew little of the physical universe and needed some explanation for things in order deal with their fear of the unknown.

They are as beneficial as would be a doctor who only practiced medicine as it was understood at the same time.

In fact, people who reject evolution and yet let modern doctors treat them are either hypocrites or ignorant because modern medical science only works if evolution is real. So, if a person does not believe in evolution, they also do not believe in medical science.

So, the question is - why do people whose beliefs deny the possibility of modern medicine go to doctors? First of all, it is a violation of their beliefs (and, therefore, might technically be a sin); and, in any case, it is just a waste of their money since what doctors believe and practice is only as true as the theory of evolution that it comes from and cannot exist without.

Religion then and now believed in some form of god that gave meaning to life. The general rule is that almost all human groups share a faith in one of more gods of some type. There is this almost universal need for a God. In that way, modern man is no different than caveman.
We almost all have to have some way in social mannerisms in which we propagate the species.
We all have to feed our selves and our children. We all have to relieve ourselves. We all need the share the effort to survive in some manner.
Who finds which food. How do we process food? Or how do we divide and cooperate in matters of survival. Who leads the group? How do we decide who leads the group?
We are not very different than the caveman. I have read that the caveman could be taught to fly a very modern airplane? So we are the same, except at different times with different information and collective knowledge.

We have early vedic written texts and it's changed quite a bit over time... Cave man religion?... All the same, why would it be any less applicable than it was then? I know of no scientific advancement that has disproved polytheism, especially not one that disproves it any more than it disproved monotheistic religion. Even ignoring the gods, which are hardly the overall message, the idea that one has a soul, and this soul reincarnates, and ultimately joins, rather literally, with God when it's done reincarnating isn't a worthless one, nor is a lot of Hindu literature, which is a lot less dogmatic than its western counterpart.
