Some hardware requires the drivers/software to be installed BEFORE attaching the devices, others require the drivers to be installed AFTER attaching the devices. Check the manual or read-me file to see which is suggested for your device.

Also, if your recorder or your computer OS is older, you may need a patch to make the driver software compatible with your OS. You should check the website for the recorder to make sure that the driver you have is correct for your current OS.

answer #a million, reboot, see if rebooting facilitates it to get regarded answer #2, try yet another USB port and see if it works. answer #3, get a USB 2.0 PCI card and see if that solves your problem. i'm having this problem with my printer on the instantaneous, it type of feels that utilising a particular USB port motives an mistakes, I plugged it into yet another one and it works fantastic... for a lengthy time period regardless of the indisputable fact that the mistakes shows up lower back and that i swap ports and it works lower back. that's on a sparkling motherboard too and a Gigabyte no a lot less (K8U-939). it really is a hardware problem, not application. And the problem isn't your penchronic, the problem is that your USB port is having an unspecified malfunction (i do not recognize what's incorrect with mine both).

Installing software and drivers are two different things. When it says unknown, click on the balloon. Then, it should take you through a wizard and have it search your JVC CD. It should find the drivers.

install the driver first. this would let your operating system recognize the device you inserts at the USB port.

Install the drivers first - not the "software". And use a USB2.0 port. USB2.0 is backwards compatible with 1.0 devices - however, USB2.0 devices won't work on 1.0 ports.
