I wouldn't put that sign up, but I would put up the following:
Baby sleeping, please do not knock or ring doorbell.
If it continues, wait until about 4am and start banging on their doors. j/k btw

Most annoying visitors can be avoided by not answering the door. If you happen to see them on the way out, you probably missed them during your nap. Prune juice is a good handout beverage, especially when you are not expecting anything in return. Always be expecting a call from "Somewhere or Someone".
I never minded giving rides to people. First stop is the gas station.
Twenty dollars fills the tank. An experienced mooch knows that you have the money to get them to their destination and of course will always have someone "waiting to give them money". If they can't come up with gas money, look around for some loose coin, go in and get a cup of coffee, and head back home. Hopefully you will be labeled as unreliable and abandoned for better prospects.

I've been through the same thing with needy neighbors that just don't get it. I had to put a similar sign up on the door before I felt forced to move because of their harrassing behavior. My sign said "KNOCK AND I'LL SHOOT" It was rude and trashy but the rude and trashy neighbors did not respond to anything else. Learn your lesson for when you move and keep to yourself. People almost always take advantage of your kindness. It is not worth it.

Go for it. I got so tired of the Jehovah's Witnesses coming over numerous times during the week in the warmer months that I made a "no soliciting" sign and put beside our front door.

Don't answer the door when they knock. If you don't want to do that, just tough it out for the next few months until you move. In the context that you described, I don't think your sign would be rude at all. Actually, you would be helping these people to learn not to take advantage of people.

In my opinion if you have gone through all the other stuff no that would not be rude. If you are moving soon go through with the police thing also if the sign doesn't work. I know the "good neighbor" thing and haveing them "get back at you" worry but you said soon your moving anyway.

I would put the sign up! Hopefully they will get the point. A lot of times I have people at my door, I put a sign that says baby sleeping do NOT disturb.
Good Luck. I hope they get the point!

They probably won't get it. Start charging them money for every time they borrow, bum a ride or use your phone. Eventually they won't come to you. Or put up a sign that says: "SLEEPING BABY GO AWAY"

Actually, that sign would be kind of funny. Since you've already told them to back off, it's definitely not rude. THEY'RE rude for continuing to bother you. Go for it. (Just make sure to add DO NOT DISTURB on the bottom of it, because some of them will find a different reason to knock, anyway.

The sign sounds like a wonderful idea. Though I am afraid the probably wouldn't read it. Too bad you can't put a textured cover on the front door so they can't knock so loud.

i dont think that the sign would be rude because your neighbors dont know it is directly appointed at them and it sounds like it would give the message if it works u should be fine for the three months if not maybe call the police and just give them probation or politely tell them that they are waking your child and disturbing your privacy
