It has been about 7 hours since surgery and the place where my wisdom teeth used to be is still bleeding heavy on the gauze....I tried the cold pack but heat seems to feel better...Is this normal?

If you are taking aspirin or ibuprofen, I'd stop. try taking tylenol. the other two will thin your blood, and that won't help with the bleeding.
along with gauze, try put pressure on the wounds.
(bite down as hard as you comfortably can).
ice should help with the swelling, which might help prevent the bleeding.

To stop the bleeding, swish your mouth periodically with a salt solution, but be careful! Too much, and you'll regret it. As for the pain, any of your preferred pain-killers should do.

I had all four of mine extracted at the same time; I looked and felt like I'd gone nine rounds with Mike Tyson! Bear up! It'll be over soon. Good luck.

I have had all four of mine surgically removed and from my experience, if you try and leave well enough alone they will heal up just fine just try not to irritate the gums which toothpaste will do. Everytime i brushed my teeth the bleeding started all over again. Try to avoid brushing as much as possible for the next couple of days. I know it feels nasty but you will survive and you wont get cavities by skippin a few days.

bite down on some cotton for about an hour, dont take asprin for the pain because its a blood thinner, and if you smoke try not to for 24 hours, cause when you suck on the ciggarett,it pulls on your back teeth,or the area where they were.

THIS A LITTLE UNUSUALSINCE THE EXTRACTION.

TAKE A COLD WET TEABAG PLACE IT OVER THE EXTRACTION SITE AND BITE DOWN FOR 30 MIN. FOLLOW THE WRITTEN INSTRUCTIONS FROM YOUR DENTIST. DO NOT TAKE ASPIRIN AS THIS WILL SLOW THE HEALING.
