It’s easier to get advice and improve your game when you are playing online as you can use an online poker calculator. The poker pro 2006 calculator keeps track of players, betting patterns and gives you the odds as you play. You also get verbal advice and recommendations in real-time so you are able to see all this in an actual live situation. To be a good poker player you need to know your odds, know your opponents and mix-up your play.

Theres not much skill to online poker. If you no how to play the game and bet the game then you got it. Online poker really kinda sucks. T o many bad beats online. Its just not the same.

First - get a good book - Sklansky would be a good start. I would also recommend checking out an online poker calculator such as Poker Pro calculator - it auto connects to your table and gives all of kind odds and stats as you play. It also analyzes your opponents as you play in real time. Finally - practice, practice and practice.

I bet you are probably talking Texas Hold 'Em. In all honesty, you can only learn so much online. It's easier to go 'all in' and bet high amounts because there is virtually no "reading a player". If you ever decide to play in real tournys or cash games, you should probably start playing face to face. It's much difference and you really learn the concept of bluffs and raises. Best of luck to you. Oh... and partypoker.com is one of the best sites to play on, you can use fake and real money. (Watch Rounders if you've never seen....with Matt Damon.)
