my family moved to el salvador years ago when i was little and since then ive been moving back and forth from costa rica to el salvador were we stay most of the time but why are costa ricans so mean they really dont like people from nicaragua and now i dont even want to tell people that im from nicaragua i usually say im from el salvador because thats home and people have been really nice to us and the country is also as beautiful as nicaragua but in costa rica they treat us like were trash and they say i come from a terrible country! what do i do?

I think, from the Nicaraguans and Salvadorians I know, that Salvadorians have an extremely high work ethic and are very honest people - also very clean and courteous but not mewling people. Many of the people from Nicaragua I have met speak in pidgin spanish and are not particularly clean. I haven't had an opportunity to work with many of them but of those I have worked with, I would say they are less motivated. I don't mean to be ugly about Nicaraguans, but I have known about 30-40 with whom I have worked (in food service, primarily) and have seen this attitude.
I don't know anyone who hires latinos who would choose a Nicaraguan, Guatamalan, southeastern Mexican, Belizean over a person from Salvador or Costa Rica. Panama seems to be much like Costa Rica for the most part.
I am just partial to the people of Salvador. I appreciate the fact that they want to assimilate more than others. Simple as that.

isn't it a pity that we assign so much meaning to what is essentially meaningless. all i would say to you is not to let other people's ignorance get to you. be proud of who you are because of your culture and the kind of person you are. be strong enough to defend your country and your opinions when they are belittled by others, and you may just make a small change.
