What is the proper way to use spiking gel so it doesn't weigh your hair down?

Should you blow dry your hair first or apply it wet? If Wet, can you then blow fry your hair.

I think blowdrying first in the direction you want the hair to be, hpside down for volume and use your fingers to direct it while drying. than use as little as possible in between the thumb and pointing finger and start at the base of a clump of hair work it through to the end, you can twirl or pull it through depending on the effect. Sometimes it is the product, some are heavier and weigh hair down. I like hair glue the kind in a can and feels like paste. Try different ones, ask someone what they use if you like the effect. Then doing this all through your hair and then spray with a stiff shine hair spray to keep it from falling or loosing it's shape. If you go to a stylist ask them what they use and ask what you can use that is cheaper at the store. A lot of them will tell you. that way you can do it the way they do it. good luck.

towel dry hair first so its only slightly damp. blow dry hair in a general spikey style, then add your gel in small amount.

usually to finish i'd put the blow dry on low to dry off the gel and to finish off the hair

use just a little to spike you can always add more then dry and spray
