do not squeeze it out, cut the lemon into quarters. then carefully draw lines on your hair with the ends of the slices if you want highlights. if you want fully blond hair you should squeeze the juice out and dunk your hair in the lemon juice then let it dry before you brush it or anything else. when the juice is on your hair, go outside and let it absorb the sun's rays for a few hours. do not wash your hair for the next few days. your hair should be lighter.

That only works in the summer.
Basically all you do is spritz it on or take some in your hands and run it through. It doesn't lighten all your hair so you you can achieve natural looking highlights. Sticking it in your hair wont do anything really unless the acid in the juice and the UV rays/heat from the sun mix and create that reaction.
my advice. wait for summer i guess
& dont do what someone above said by useing straightenting iron at highest setting. You will just fry your hair.

Put lots and lots of straight lemon juice in your hair, proceed to shower after ten minutes. Then run a straightening iron through your hair at the highest setting while it is still wet. Following this, douse your hair with a mixture of clorox bleach and hydrogen peroxide, cover it in masking tape and leave it like that for three days. On the third day, wash your hair with a full jar of Helman's Mayonnaise (only Helman's will do) and follow up with a final douse of one gallon of pure lemon juice. (Actually I'm kidding. Just make sure you mix the lemon juice with something else [something of which I am not sure]. Whatever you do, don't use it straight it could ruin your hair.)

If you are in a sunny climate, For sure it works, and is natural looking too! Better yet , mix lemon juice and baby oil, equal parts, and go to the beach for 2 hours! You will be amazed! Shampoo 2-3 times after and you will be good to GO! Good luck!

OK, I've never done this but my husband has. He says that you just put lemon juice on your clean hair when you're going to be in the sun. But like I said....I've never tried it myself.
