i think a shitzu is a hypoallergenic dog, but im not sure. take a look at this site. :)

Shih Tzu, Maltese, Bishon...Almost any breed that has long hair that doesn't shed. However, they still have dander and they still can trigger allergies, just not as much as short-haired breeds.

I have a lasa beshan ( spelling ? ) mix.. no dander.. great pet. she is 9 years old now.. would not have asked for a better dog

if you like large dogs .. try a Maremma Italain Sheep dog. i suffer allergies but not with this type of dog
