It varies, alot of time rainy, but mild, in the 50's. The weather in that area can be just about anything though. I got married the beginning of May in Gatlinburg and it was 85.

I go to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge every year in March. Though it is late March when I go, the weather is really nice there. For that time of year it usually in the upper 50s low 60s. Also that is a good time to go because there is less people there which makes travel easier, whereas, if u go in say late spring to late summer the tourist are crazy there and it is much harder to get from one place to another

March in Tennessee. Lets see; first of all it will be still cool at night. There will be lots of afternoon showers, and in fact at higher elevations there could be some snow. March is also the "tornado" season around the southeast, and midwest; however you can't pack for that. The trees will be trying to bud, and will be in full bloom by April. Good Friday is when the farmers will began to plant. If you go to Nashville you will have a good time, and also Chatanooga. The scenery will be unreal at that time of year. Go to Ruby Falls for sure.
