I just baught a mac laptop and I wanted to put windows XP using the XP Cd from another computer I have, an HP PC. When XP finally loads, it wants me to validate it and I tried to validate it but it won't work, probably because I have a CD from antoher computer and I didn't actually buy XP. Okay, no one buys a Mac to switch to Linux. And, it's not a "virtual terminal". Windows XP runs natively on an Intel Macintosh, just like any other PC.

With that said, if you had read the BootCamp instructions, you would plainly see that it specifically states that you MUST have a Windows XP Home or Pro with Service Pack 2, FULL INSTALLATION, disk. You can NOT use any other type of Windows XP install disk. BootCamp was not designed for any other types if installations. If your Windows XP disk is tied to another system, it will only install on that system. If you don't wish to purchase a Windows XP disk, there are "other" ways of obtaining a suitable disk for use with BootCamp. Due to the legality of the "other" methods, I can not help you do this. In any case, good luck. Windows XP runs great on a Mac.

welcome to the world of Bill Gates. Your screwed. You legally only have a license to use your copy of xp on ONE computer, and it is "technically" against the law to be running xp in a virtual terminal. My advice, ....... switch to linux.
