You could either ask your parents, or go to the hospital from where you were born, and ask if you could see their hospital records.

Birth certificates are not located at any hospital medical record department. It is not a medical record it is a county record.
Go on line find the city and county that you were born in. There should be an area for county court house. This is where all birth certificates are held. It may take a while depending on your age because before computers these were archived in microfish. For about 20.00 you can get a copy, but there is a form you must fillout and get noterized to prove you are who you say you are. The county clerk will send a official BC to you in the mail. Hope this helps.

go to the county court house, unless you were born out of the country they will be able to find you. If you were born out of the country but you're parents were in the military go to the military branch. If you are in a differant state contact someone that can go to a courthouse in the area that you were born in that cane go for you or e-mail the county for more info on how to get it.

Hi Niesha,

The answer to your question depends slightly on where you were born and your nationality.

In many countries people can obtain a copy of their official birth certificate from the City hall in the city where they were born or were raised.

If you know where you were born, call that state capitals "Department of Vital Records". You may have to pay for a copy, but you should be able to request a copy of your Birth Certificate.

Each state will have its own requirement as to what you may have to bring as proof..

You need to go to the health department in the county you were born in or to the hospital that you were born in. One of those places should have it on record.

Ask who ever what city and state you were born in. Then you should be able to find it in the county clerks office (for that area) on file. You will then need to ask them for a copy of it.
