Poisoning.(god forbid) But poisoning makes them act this
way especially exposer to rat poison. or some other toxic chemical.Over breeding small dogs can cause a "cough like
heeving seizure"and it is oftendue too a calcium deficiency.

Unless the dog can be diabetic or epeleptic .The former is
a more common probability considering the history and sowing of the dog.Often the dog may be a mutt.Cross bred or interbred.
Other then these cases with no "Certified AKa BreedingI'm not sure the experts completely know unless they take expensive blood tests that rule out some things .Unless the dog has a "history"Often dog's are not well cared for and over bred or inter bred even in aka situations.Interbred means a male or
female is paired with theyre own offspring. The only other
reason other then genetic probability is "that this is a behavior
problem maybe due to a nervous dog.Small breed dogs
are often known for their timidness or nervous behavior.
and other health problems ,They range from how much you have been breeding them to the last.

Do you have a small dog? They often have what is called reverse sneezing. It usually is not a problem. A collapsing trachea is something else and can be quite serious. Try talking softly to the dog when it does this and rub gently downward on its throat until is stops. It usually just takes a few seconds.

It is probably not an asthma attack. It might be a collapsing trachea. Small dogs are prone to that. See the vet and get it checked out!!!!!!!

I don't know to be honest I have a chihuahua named Damien that does that and we're taking him to the vet to see if it's normal. We've had chihuahuas that have done that before but everyone usually said it was normal but I am starting to worry. So I can get back to you on that if you'd like, but yoy do have to keep in mind that not every dog is the same. GOOD LUCK!
