When you do not eat your metabolism drops drastically therefore when you finally eat something it will likely cause you to gain more weight from eating that food than if you were on a normal diet and decided to eat that food. That probably sounds confusing but let's say two people want to eat a pizza and one hasn't eaten in a week while the other has eaten regularly, the first person may gain two or three pounds while the second person may not gain any at all because his/her metabolism is high enough to burn it. But either way, you don't need to stop eating because eating is good for you! :)

Don't eat for how long ? .. You might get fatter because you will be starved .. so you will wolf down your next meal very fast and want more food to satisfy you. But, your question at face value .. the answer would be : No. You might starve to death after 21 days without food. You can only go about 3 to 5 days without any water. Good Luck ! :)

Yes.
I know it seems ridiculous but it is true that if you go for long periods between eating you will store more of that food in fat than if you were to eat on a normal schedule.
Why?
When you do this the body begins to recognize the pattern and in defense of what it sees as the threat of starvation, it will in turn store as much energy as it can when it does get food, to prevent starvation. Therefore you gain weight.

There is a disease where if you don't eat for a long period of time, your body will have trouble digesting, and then even if you just drink water, you become bloated.
That is not getting fatter though. If you don't eat, your body uses your excess fat for food.

No, your body will start to utilize fat and muscle for energy. However, after starving the body will store extra fat to protect against starvation in the future which is why you gain back extra weight once you start to eat again. That is why when you are trying to loose weight they say to eat 6 small frequent meals a day...

Not eating slows down your metabolism, so when you do eat your body holds on to every calorie to use as a reserve because it thinks it's starving.
Eating actually increases the metabolism. You just have to make wise choices with what you eat and exercise.

If you cut way down on food intake or stop eating, your body goes into starvation mode - it starts burning calories much more slowly; one of those things left from cave man days, they say. Best thing to do is cut back, but not drastically, and choose more healthy food.

Well I have heard that you are supposed to eat 5 small meals a day. I know that really dusn't answer your question but when people don't eat they get sick. So I would at least eat fruits and veggies. (if u on a diet or sumin)

Yes it is true because your body stores the fat because it knows that it's the only food avaliable so it keeps the fat and eats the muscle..Then when all of the muscle is gone it eats the fat..Did I mention that your heart is muscle??
