Does root beer stay carbonated longer than most sodas?

I think that it does. I is just more fizzy than most sodas which is why it makes people burp more. Or at least it is easier to burp after drinking root beer, or at least I think so. And so do my brothers who use it to win burping contests.

I just finished a Barqs Root Beer. It should be covered to retain the fizz.
