She hit the party scene, hooked up with the first guy that came along, and gained a lot of weight right after the breakup. Are these symptoms that she is having a hard time with the breakup of our long term relationship? She broke it off, but I don't think that she expected me to dissappear afterwards.

Could be a mild depression...
If you can talk to her and see what's going on maybe you can help her out. If it's depression it should be taken very seriously and she should get help before it gets any worse.

it could be that she is depressed or she could be letting herself go. we just don't know. however, since you seem to be keeping such a close eye on her (STILL) perhaps you could tell us?
