That should not be to hard with those two verses. Look up a good Bible commentary will help a lot and just think about how God has called you to live and how it is different from many in the world. What is the perfect will of God? See what Paul teaches about putting off the old man and putting on the new. Eph 4-6, Galatians 5, see Romans 8

Those verses are so full of material for a two, three, or thirty-three page report!! Here are the verses with a few references.

1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
1st Corinthians 1:10, 2nd Corinthians 10:1, Ephesians 4:1, 1st Peter 2:11, Romans 6:13, 1st Corinthians 6:20, Hebrews 13:15, 1st Peter 2:5

2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
1st Peter 1:14, Matthew 13:22, Galatians 1:4, 1st John 2:15, Ephesians 4:23, Titus 3:5, Ephesians 5:10, Colossians 1:9

you could write about the concept of a "living sacrifice", or not "conforming" to this world, or about "renewing our minds", or about the "will of God".

there is so much!!

one important thing is to note Paul's use of the word "therefore". In other words, because of all the stuff he has written prior to chapter 12, THEREFORE he beseechs the readers to do as he says. what did Paul say before? why is the "therefore" there?

i would look up some references, read some commentary maybe, and then write the night away!!

god bless!!

I can tell you that based on God's mercy Paul entreats believers to present their bodies as a living sacrifice, meaning they should use their bodies to serve and obey God. see 6:13, such giving of the body to God is more than a contrast with a dead animal sacrifice, it is "newness of life" see 6:4.. Holy means set apart for the Lord's use. Acceptable means pleasing to Him; and reasonable indicates that such a gift is the only rational reaction to all the good gifts God has showered on us.
12:2- Conformed means "to for" or "mold" World is the normal word for "age" or "era" instead of being molded by the values of this world, the believer should be transformed, that is, changed by the renewing of the mind. Spiritual transformation starts in the mind and heart.. Go from there and good luck. Gods truth can transform the mind and will produce a life that can stand the test of time.

Take a look at the scripture and see if you can figure out what it has to say to you. If that's the one I'm thinking of (do not be conformed to the world...) there's a fun modern paraphrase of it that says "what is right is not always popular, and what is popular is not always right." I've seen that on the walls at Christian high schools and church youth rooms and such. Take the paraphrase and compare it to the real scripture, and write on how they're related. Or, write another paraphrase yourself, and then write on why you think that's what it says.

THE EPISTLE OF PAUL THE APOSTLE TO THE
ROMANS
CHAPTER 12

Paul counsels the saints to present their bodies as a living sacrifice; to use their own grace-given gifts; to live as becometh saints.

1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Sorry, it helps to see the verses. I think I would contrast :
-animal sacrifice & the rigid roles under the Law of Moses, Levites being called to serve, etc.
-present sacrifice after the final sacrifice of Christ (crucifixion) and what is expected of us today.

EDIT: Now the first verse is a continuation of the 11th chapter, where Paul tells of the old olive branch that was broiken of from the tree ( that is; the Jews were broken off because of their unbelief ) , and so were those he was writing to at one time unbelievers, but were grafted on to the tree because of their faith in Him through Christ.

The new olive branch, i.e. the Gentiles are to be grateful then.

And now Romans 12:
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

I think that I might know what your teacher want sto teach, but what is the truth of it? What many Christians might think is that we are to live by standards that our "Christian Community" can approve of. But that's not what Paul is talking about here. Rather he is summing it up in the very next verse:
3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

The difficult thing to do here is to communicate that action that a c
hristian should live by. Many would believe that it is "A Clean Chirstian Lifestyle". But that's not what it is talking about here ( as I said). Rather Paul is describing what it is to stay in focus, our eyes on Christ as he says in Hebrews 12, and that we shouldn't ho0ld ourselves above the old olicve branch, the Jews who do not believe, even though the message of Jesus is right in front of their eyes, embedded in their traditions and in their scriptures. We are not to be full of ourselves over this, and stay humble in the Lord.

Remember that 2 Corinthians 4:4 shows that Satan is the god of this system of things. He is a liar and the father of the lie. He is a murderer and has committed the unforgivable sin of blaspheming the holy spirit because he lived in heaven with God and knew the sort of person he was, yet he lied to Eve to try to accomplish his own selfish desires of having all of mankind serve him rather than God. Hope that helps.

Wow plagiarism in Bible class...Sort of an unusual twist. Then again the bible is most plagiarized, so you might want to point out that "Romans" was a late addition to the bible, and probably pagan text that was reworded to make it appear Christian.

Read it several times noting important words/phrases. Now, write down what it means to YOU. I hope you're not a Christian. Asking someone to write "MAYBE A ROUGH DRAFT TO WORK FROM" does not seem what a Christian would ask. If this offends you, oh well.

if i were you , i would explain what reasonable service is as a Christian and how it is applied here. Two pages double spaced isn't a lot.. Wish i had your teacher. You really would be in a tight if you had Doctor SS and they don't call him that for nothing, he works you like a Hebrew slave.
