im looking for something fairly cheap that i can get from walmart, walgreens or GNC. i need something to boost endurance and assist in muscle growth.
are there any supplements that act like anabolic steroids but without the side effects?

what else do you recommend for building muscle mass and increasing endurance? i am a high school senior and i do comp XC mountain bike racing, i dont work, and i get about 7-9 hours of sleep daily. i have a somewhat vegetarian diet (i only eat chicken, beef and the like occasionally). i also ride about 40miles per week and have a regular workout routine, but i dont seem to be getting any bigger. i feel like ive gotten to a climax and im sliding downhill slowly. thats why im looking for a supplement to boost my energy levels so i can work out more often.

with out a solid diet of whole foods nutritional supplements are pretty much a waste of money.

If you aren't gaining weight it's simply because your caloric expenditure is greater than your caloric intake. you need to eat more.

and there are no OTC supplements that even close close to anabolic and androgenic steroids. even when taking them the user has to increase their caloric intake. your body can not grow larger unless there is an excess of calories...

The best suppliment I would say is creatine. It is naturally produced in the body, and isn't shown to have negative side effects. Also it allows your body to produce a greater amount of APT wich is the energy that your muscle cells need. It comes in a liquid or a powder and you can find it at places like GNC.

try taking protein (available in powder form) what you're doing will build strength and endurance but not bulk. that's accomplished by doing strength exercises (low reps and high weight), BUT that will decrease your ability in the other stuff-the extra weight (even though it's muscle) will hurt you in biking cause you gotta carry that weight up the hills. -for example look at Lance Armstrong-he's skinny, but really strong for his weight-you gotta decide what you want to do. big muscles look good and help for football-for the rest more slender and strong is better.

Eat healthy, lift weights and drink protein shakes with as little added to them as possible, the sugar in the fruits added to them slow down the absorbtion of the shake.
I use the powdered one from walmart in vanilla tastes pretty good too.
