a friend of mine who asks me for advice, as she knows i hate giving advice if im not certain its right, but anyway, i am not particular about this one, she has a great dane male he lives indoors with her even sleeps on her bed she wants to know if when she brings her new bf over to stay the night will it make the dog jealous, should she still let the dog sleep on the bed as her and her bf will be sleeping together, and is it wrong to have sex in front of your dog, so far only advice i gave her is that her bf may have different ideas about staying if he finds out where the dogs sleeping. what can i say to her to help her dilemma, i dont particularly want to answer this one but shes a good friend thanks all

All I can say is I would NOT be in the 'mood' to make love to a woman with a great dane in the bed. Forget about the DOG having a problem with it... I WOULD have a problem with it!

I was reading up on dog training tips, one of the first things the book said is a dog should never sleep on the same level as its owner, as it goes against their natural pack instinct, in the wild the top dog always slept in a more elevated position then the other members of the pack, this is a sign of respect. So take this into your home - if you let a dog sleep in your bed with you then you are letting him/her be the boss, when its necessary for the owner to be the boss. No wonder shes worried about the dog being jealous!!! She should start to train the dog to get out of the bed (trick is to reward the dog, not punish, that is give him doggie treats for staying on the floor, and ignore it if it gets in the bed) and then let her boyfriend in it.

Well the dog can actually get jealous depends on how he feels about her. If she is the "pack leader" he will be fine but if your friend is the "follower" her dane might take her as his property which he wont appreciate him being kicked out. About her and her bf having sex in front of the dog my opinion is no but that is up to the human. Just tell your friend to make sure she does not make the dog feel left out due to the "new bf" otherwise the dog can get jealous and even bite him.

It's really up to her and her boyfriend and how they feel together about the situation. Everyone has their personal opinions about dogs sleeping on their bed with having a boyfriend or girlfriend. I think that if a boyfriend or girlfriend had a pet, have a pet, or had a good experience with a pet they will be willing to try with the great dane her dog fits with them two.
Personally I had a poodle mix who use to sleep on my bed (she passed away) and when my boyfriend came into the picture she liked him. He had no problem with her sleeping in the bed with u @ night. She would snuggled up with both of us @ the end of the bed or @ my side/his side.
When I got my 2nd dog 2 months ago. She was in the process of being crate trained and when I felt she was ready she slept in the bed with my boyfriend and I, plus my poodle mix. For awhile it was a bit challanging; however everyone (including the dogs) got into a routine. My poodle mix would sleep @ the end of the bed where she always slept, my min pin would sleep next to me and my boyfriend of course on the other side. Now that my poodle mix is passed away my min pin still sleeps cuddled up w/ me or buried under the sheets @ the end of the bed.
As for sex, I do not think that's good personally the dog being on the bed. I think the dog should be put off the bed becase this is an intimate moment between two humans, and having a dog would make the situation awkward and really uncomfortable for the boyfriend or girlfriend perhaps even for the dog owner. Good Luck.

I love this question.I have two dogs that sleep in the bed with me. When my gf comes over they must sleep on the floor. You can tell that they're a bit confused & they sit there and watch for a few minutes but ,they soon get bored a go about they're business. Will the dog get jealous ? Maby.Just don't be surprized if when you're friend leaves the room that when she gets back the dog is sleeping with the boy friend.Ps, it's time to put the dog out of the room when the dog is watching with a beer in one paw & a bowl of popcorn in the other paw.

It is definately wrong to have the dog sleep in the bed with her and her bf (i certainly wouldnt stay over if the dog was sleeping in same bed as my bf). it is fine to have sex in front of dog (it wouldnt understand the process) as long as the dog doesnt think they are playing and try to jump on the bed and play as well. It is probably best for her to teach the dog to sleep other places - like in the laundry, or even on the floor in the bedroom.

Does the dog bite? Opinion... dog will be jealous. She should ask the boyfriend if he would mind the dog sleeping in the bed and put the dog in a separate room during sex.

my danes sleep with me (yes, that was plural, i have two in the bed every night), and they're fine with my bf in the bed as long as he doesn't crowd them. i can't stand them watching us have sex, so they are shut out of the room for that. i have had a dane in the past who was aggressive toward men who i wouldn't let sleep in the bed when he came over - however, as i am not very quiet sometimes, the dog thought i was being hurt and broke the door down trying to save me. my bf was a little upset to all of a sudden have a 150 pound dog standing over him growling, but no one (other than the door frame) was seriously hurt. thank god for my dog trainer, eh? sinaka had been abused by a man who also beat his wife and kids, and was very protective of me once i adopted him. i had to take him to guard dog school so he'd know when to be aggressive and when not to be. if i hadn't, my bf would most likely have been severely hurt. as long as your friend's dane is non-aggressive, i think it would be fine, but tell her that the dog might get a little too curious during the actual act and try to get between them to see what's going on. also, my danes are so spoiled that if they don't get to sleep in the bed, they cry and whine all night long, so that may be another concern. hope this helps.

She will need to eventually train that dog to sleep on the floor or in a dog bed. A big dog like that takes up a lot of room and if she wants to have a good relationship with her BF then she will need to learn to adjust to the new sleeping arraingements. The dog will be fine. Make sure that the BF meets the dog and gets to know him. He will be jelious at first but he will eventually lighten up and learn his new friend.
I had a dog that used to sleep with me all the time.. eventually when I met my ex I trained my dog to sleep outside my room.. it was a hard few months but we did it..
GL to your friend

I had one boxer when I met my boyfriend, and he still sleeps on the bed most of the time. WE have 3 of them now, which makes it impossible for all of them to sleep all night on the bed. But here's how we work it: I have dog beds on the floor for them, since they WON'T be happy sleeping on the floor. They are allowed on the bed, but understand that they may be kicked off at any time when it gets too crowded (sometimes they want to be ON my legs or something). We don't worry about them watching sex--they don't, anyway. As long as they know that now is not a good time, but that their time for cuddling will come later, they're just fine and dandy.

First off, your friend is a $lut. She should worry more about her own personal health and not that of her dog. Are all your friends sluts? Forget the dog, tell her that her BF will not buy the COW 'cause the milk is free. Her dog might get jealous, but I think she ought to be more concerned what her dear mother might think. With all these diseases that are going around, why does she want to risk it?
She should be a virgin, (or revirgin) and be damn proud of it.
