Depends on the breed really. My fiance's parents have 2 mini dachsunds and they are yappy, as are all little dogs. My fiance's cousin's wife has a Yorkie-Maltest and she is yappy as hell. Also I found out that dachsunds are a hound, and hounds are noisy, yappy and barky all the time. On the other hand, my fiance and I have a golden retriever and she hardly ever barks unless the mini dachsunds are barking at her or she hears something or sees someone, but that is pretty much it. Oh, and she also barks when she needs let out, but that is a good thing.
