Yes, it is sad to see a bunch of children asking for help. And that's a great question to ask: Where *are* their parents? To be negative, you could say that they've gone to a bar and left the children alone at the house or some such, but to be positive, they could be a doing a lot worse things then asking questions on Yahoo. And at least they *are* trying to get help, by coming here. The ones I truly feel sorry for are the people who give idiotic replies that would be completely stupid to do in real life. There's really not a lot we can do to help each individual child, except maybe answer the questions that they pose on here.

Yes in those cases it does but some parents don't understand I have grown up in a small town where most of the parents (don't ask me why because its puzzled me since I was a child) after their children reach a certain age can just do everything for themselves and are expected to know everything I have seen it go as far as the moms/dads actually hosting a drug/alcohol party for teens its sad I guess I would rather see the kids on here asking for advice but in the case of birth control they need to go to planned parenthood (although they shouldn't be in need of it at their ages anyway) or a doctor and not take other peoples advice..........never stop worrying about your children and block them from anything online you think neccasary, they grow up too fast anyways they don't need help from anyone but you in doing so............Happy Holidays!!!!!!!!

Yes, it does sadden me. I am shocked parents would allow their kids to be in Yahoo Q&A because there are so many very mature topics discussed here. I think, especially in the marriage and divorce and singles & dating topics, Yahoo should put a disclaimer stating you must be 18 to get into it, or start a Q&A for kids. Either way, to see how many kids are asking total strangers for assistance on here is a very sad sign of our times and how much kids are being neglected these days. :(

Yea it sure does. Mon and or dad are probably busy watching the tube, at work or school or maybe sound asleep somewhere. They also gave little Janie or Jimmy a computer because they want them to have what they did not have. Besides there are a great number of parents that just don't care what their child is doing. As for sad. It's heart breaking. People often ask where does the discipline start. Well it starts at home. It's just that mom and dad need to apply it.

ok... I am NOT saying that your technique is right, because I would not do it that way. But, atleast you care enough about your kids to discipline them.... I have found that spanking is usually an adequate form of punishment (and of course there are prople who are going to say that spanking is extreme, and should never be done) to resolve most more severe issues that you encounter. Typically what I have seen is with the lesser severe punishments, the children are not afraid of their parents, so they will misbehave, and the parents will have trouble being boss. But I would definately say that pointing a gun at a child is not good parenting. You are supposed to teach children gun safety, and this is definately not it.

Not really if their on here then we are doing what the parents should be doing as long as their on here then they are staying out of trouble so lets do what we can to entertain them and just maybe one of us will say something to keep someone from making a costly mistake.

things had changed. lots of the parents don't even care about their children...but you can't be the one to judge.
i think its nice for us (i'm 16) to have somewhere to go when we have concerns, questions, or need advices.
now if u are talking about 13 and under asking about relationships, no, i don't think that's right. but you never know the person's situation, and home life. so u can't say anything...
