1 Tattoo is OK, but people now are going wild with them. Its kind of ludicrous, i got mine 10 years ago when i was in military. Those were the only people getting them then. You did not see basketball and football players with "sleeves" like now, and the only women getting them where strippers or "trash". Now it seems every person from people having a middle age crisis to children are getting them and they don't even know why. Its just a trend in 20 years will die out, my only advice to anyone getting a tattoo is think about it. 20 years from now is that what you want to see everyday? And think about why your getting one, if you don't know why, or your only answer is "its cool, or Jim bob got one" you better wait a few more years until your mature enough to decide on it, on your own.
by the way getting tattoo's and piercings does not show your individuality. Since so many are doing it now, think about it.

It actually really depends on how many peircingsand tattoos the person has and where there at. If a guy has a peircing on his eyebrow, MAJOR TURN OFF. But if he has a piercing on his lip, thats ok. And maybe if he has stretchers in his ears, other than that, all other piercings are just turn offs. And if a guys has a full sleeve of tats, thats a turn off too.

ive been with my bf for over 2 years. he hate piercings.. im 19 so i dont have any tattoos yet. lol i would only get them for a meaning but i do feel like i am a bit addicted to piercings. so i am afraid to get a tattoo cause of "the addiction" i only have 8 right now. i gto 3 this year alone.nothing really major. i got my navel done over the summer, (he hated it) and i got 2 cartilag epiercings (one on each side on the middle of the outer lobes, basically across from a tragus piercing) he hates those too. lol he would rather me take everything out.
guys just dont understand sometiems what it feels like
i still think about what to get done next, nipples? he replied :"u would be a single girl" haha oh well.. i dont want many more holes in my body anyways
but each guy is different in what they like and/or prefer =)

I'm not a guy but I love my tattoo and I don't see it as gross for a girl, or a guy for that matter to have them. My boyfriend doesn't have any but he doesn't dislike mine, and even if he did, it wouldn't bother him as he loves me for who I am, not my tattoos. It just sounds like your ex is using your new tattoos and piercings as an excuse to never go back to if you ever wanted him back. Then he would have a reason other than he just doesn't want to, he could then say that he doesn't want to date someone who has tattoos or piercings. Forget about him and find someone who respects you and accepts you for who you are.

I think tattoos and piercings are VERY attractive on females when they do it for themselves and avoid stereotypical tattoos. Generally if a hundred females have nothing but navel piercings and tramp stamp located tattoos, I'm not impressed (the same applies for men and armbands and eyebrow piercings...blah!)
But who cares what they say! If you like it go for it...he's your EX BOYFRIEND...his opinion shouldn't matter to you. If you like it, I say go for it.
Note to lucy7: NO ONE looks sexy when they are 70+, tattoos or not.

Am not a fella but sure hope you did not put his name or any guys name on your body....
Do not worry about it there are plenty of guys out there that like a free thinker. Mine is a big one on my chest and people can not see it but for when I wear a tank top. Those that see just a little bit of it are always so surprised I have one, and as big as it is (when that is I will show them without them seeing certain parts of my anatomy).

I'm a chica....who cares what an ex boyfriend says....let alone anyone. I think that if the right tattoos and piercings are on a person it can make them more beautiful.

i have my nose, belly and tounge peirced every guy i know thinks it's sexy and attractive cause i am showing my individuality.
i also have two tattoos and these are also a reflection of who i am.
if your ex is commenting on who you are then he's an *** if you feel like expressing yourself by getting tats and piercings i say good for you, ignore all the haters out there.
oh and regardless of what others say neither one is trashy or slutty.

i'm not a guy... but i am a girl with tattoos and i can tell you that i get so many compliments on my tattoos whenever i chose to have them exposed. mostly by guys. and my tattoos aren't small by any means. of course some guys don't like tattooed girls. but a lot do. i have a lot of guy friends who are heavily tattooed and wouldn't date a girl without tattoos. but i also have a lot of guy friends with ZERO tattoos that will probably never get tattooed and they still think my tattoos are hot. so whatever. your boyfriend is probably just jealous because he doesn't have you anymore and wants to make you feel bad.
