I had hald my meniscus removed 4 years ago. Now I'm having more trouble. Now they say I need to go for a transplant because I'm only 27 and to young for a knee replacment. Any opinions?

Transplants are on the cutting edge and the MOST promising of all treatment options available. A knee replacement only last 15 years, that is why they say you are too young for a knee replacement!
IF MY insurance covered a transplant, or I could afford it, I would do it in a heart beat!

I get injections under my knee cap every 6-10 months kinda like w-d40 for the knee.
I get orthovisc, synvisc, or hylgan injections. they are temporary relief, until the medical community comes up with a good option to knee replacement. Which they say they don't do until you are 55. My knee went real bad, walking with a cane in nov 2000.

I have researched many options.
I talked with a woman at the nursery last year that had the transplant, and she was thilled with it!!
She had it done at UCLA.

I wish you the best of luck, and research all your options.
Recovery from a knee replacement takes 9 months of dedication.
Just this past year, they have come up with a knee that will rotate.
Believe me, in the next 2 years, so many people will be demanding better quality of life, and more options for blown out knees!
