I always enjoy it immensely when people like my food! So I feel great when it is the first, second, or third that is all gone.
Comments: Does anyone know who made that wonderful___, I'd love to get the recipe?
What do you mean it's all gone, I wanted a third helping?
Would you give me your recipe for___, it was really good?
You make such good___ but you need to bring more of it next time!
I absolutely love hearing these kind of comments!!

It renews my interest in cooking when that happens.
Sometimes I don't think my family appreciates my cooking. Then it just feels like a chore I do for them. I like to make something special for them during dinner.
But when I make the same dish for an event/potluck and it's one of the first dishes finished, one of the comments that makes me feel good, is when they ask for the recipe! I think that's a high form of compliment.

I feel great, because then I don't have to take it back home!
I compliment I hear most is "I haven't had that in so long, I had two helpings!"
Cooking isn't a miracle, I know that anyone can throw together something to eat. It's when you come up with something that no one else wanted to make or wanted to afford to make. My lasagna will serve only about 9 or 10 people, but it's 7 layers and the cost is about $25 (cause I use the right ingredients)

I love when that happens!
You can see all the plates with your specialty mounded high and you hear people telling other to "try the _________ it's really good."
But the best compliment of all is when all the women start asking for the recipe! I print up recipe cards in advance and leave them by the dish.

I love it, it makes me feel so accomplished. I have people tell me it is the best they have ever had and have i thought about trying to sell it in local restaurants. And they always ask me for the recipe, of which I'm reluctant to give because maybe they are just inviting me for my food and if i give them the recipe then i won't be invited back!!!! Ahhhhh what should i do??

I have this special way of making baked mashed potatoes and they always disappear first. I made them for a friend of mines funeral dinner and her daughter in law came upto me and told me that her daughter is such a picky eater and won't eat hardly anything but she had 3 helpings of my mashed potatoes and she wanted the recipe. So with my chest swelled and a beaming smile, I gave it to her.

The time test is in the trashcan to see if it is dumped
the ones who really loved your dish always asks for the recipe.
I always have some printed out on cards ready to give away. They are usually surprised at how easy it was to make.

It feels awsome. My hobby is cooking, and I love comments, good or bad.
I recently prepared a diabetic banana pudding for a health inservice and at least 50% of the people asked me for the recipe. That is one of the highest compliments you can get when total strangers say, "I've just gotta have that recipe."

You should be very happy, its the largest compliment. Why would somebody eat your food if they dont like it? Unless they took it to use on their athlete's foot, which isnt very likely, then its a good thing. I love it when people ask for my recipe, it means they like it enough to want to take the time and effort to make it themselves. Sometimes, if its a good recipe, i even get a little miffed if my food disappears. I want to eat it for myself!
