I was in Vienna and Prague in May 2006 - and let me tell you that 2 days is not enough for either city. There is just so much to do! They both have great restaurants, pubs, museums, art galleries, wonderful cultures, etc. Between the two cities I found Vienna to be more interesting, entertaining, and charming. But then I can speak some German so I got more out of that city. Oh, by the way, the train trip from Prague to Vienna was over 5 hours long. Expect delays especially when they are doing passport checks and rail work so you may want to reconsider.

Wow, I had 4 days in Vienna and still didn't get to see as much as I wanted to, I can't imagine being able to see everything in 2 days... My wife is from Bregenz, Austria and lived 9 years in Vienna, so I had an excellent tour guide, but there was still so much more to see. Prague is wonderful, but I really enjoyed Vienna much more.

Salzburg, Insbruk and Graz are all great day trips from Vienna! But in February... there's likely to be snow in all these places... including Vienna. Wish I could answer your question about Bratislava. I wanted to go there when I was in Vienna but was with someone else who wanted to go to Graz instead... so we did.

I was born in Prague so am a bit prejudiced. Yes, you should go to Prague, although in one day you won't get to see much - and there is so much to see.
