Ask him if he's paying all that money for his sake or for yours. If he says his, lose him and find a guy that wants to be around you just because you're you. If he says yours, then he should be happy with whatever you decide.
There's got to be a better guy to go with than that! He sounds like self-involved and selfish creep. Plus, you could be getting yourself into a potentially bad situation if alcohol gets involved.

Let him spend all the money he wants, you're not obligated to give anything in return.
But if he seriously said that to you, you might want to look for a different prom date.. Really, you derserve better than that.

That is complete bullchit. Sex is ment to show how much you love someone and should be saved for marrige. He should just be glad that he gets to spend time with you.
