You can call them all you want, and anything else until you opt out. It will not allow anybody to send you pre-screened offers that want to give you credit. They do a soft pull on your credit and decide your worthiness, and then send you a credit card that you could more than likely get. Go here and in about 30 to 45 days it will stop https://www.optoutprescreen.com/?rf=t

You need to "opt out" of receiving these types of solicitation by calling 1-888-5-OPT OUT (1-888-567-8688). It will take a short while to see the impact of placing this "stop" order but you'll be surprised at the decrease in volume.
Also, to stop telephone solicitors your should register your telephone numbers (home and cellular) at www.donotcall.gov.
Neither of these will stop companies with whom you already have a relationship from sending solicitations/mailings or calling but it will stop those with whom you do not have an existing relationship.
Good Luck!

without communicating with them directly, this might be hard to do. I would call them and politely ask them to stop. Tell them you might consider them in the future, but that you get too much mail and that you would prefer to not have any offers from them or anyone else. Ask them to document your message. Ask them if you should speak to someone else in the company. Politeness will get you a long way.

If they are sending checks, I assume you have and account with them. If that is true, the 'opt-out' answers don't apply. I don't know how to get them to stop sending offers in my statements, but my paper shredder works fine.

Some of my colleagues have chatted with me about some of the most histerical retaliatory efforts made by people.
-Return with ketchup packets inside.
-Return with small rocks and pebbles.
... and the most hysterical one
-Return envelope stuck onto a brick
Believe it or not these things occur frequently. Believe me USPS does not mind, they are getting paid more for heavier "parcels".

for credit offers, use the opt-out method. for checks, ask customer service nicely.. be sure to shred them if they keep coming, because they often have less protection then if someone stole your card and used it

You can get your name removed from mailing lists by signing up at the Direct Marketing Association -
http://www.dmaconsumers.org/consumerassistance.html
It's like the "Do not call" list, but for mail.
