Generally a 2nd degree felony is lower charge with a lesser sentence. It will vary depending on what state you live in. Many felonies have 2nd, 3rd and even lower degrees. A few examples would be murder, manslaughter and robbery. Like the crimes themselves the sentences also vary from state to state.

a 2nd degree felony is the class charge of felony lesser than the 1st degree felony. The charges all depend on what state you live in, as well as the allowable sentences. There are many different charges in this class, but like i said, it all depends up on the state penal code and all that.
Better question would be to ask, "What all charges are considerered 2nd degree felonies in (your state, or state of question) and what arre the minimum and maximum sentences?"
Good luck....
