Christians, saying that some magical being just created the universe is WAY harder to believe than evolution. But to the point.....
You believe that God is a very complex God right? Okay, if you do, then you probably also think He is more complex than the universe, so using God to explain the universe is VERY illogical, it just adds more improbable complexity. Christians say that God has always been here. Why not just say the universe has always been here? Mr Christian, "because the universe needs a creator".
Well then, who created God? "god existed forever" Well then if he didn't need a creator, then why not the universe existed forever?

Well I thought God was real until today. I have my doubts too. Throwing in the towel.

The Holy Bible tells us about God The Father, God The Son and God The Holy Spirit, we can NOT as humans understand someone who always has been and always will be because we have a begining and we know we will die, and IF we could explain God the He would not be God, we would, IF you Love Him keep His commandments and IF you do when The Second member of The God head returns you and i can sit at His feet and He will explain things better until then we take this by Faith, and the end of The road for faith is BE-LIVING in Him, find out more free bible lessons www.itiswritten.com more bible questions www.bibleinfo.com talk to me also wgr88@yahoo.com God bless.

The universe is limited to the laws of physical laws. God is not physical, therefore not bound by physical laws. How could God be limited by something he created. There was a time when God existed and the universe didn't.

Why do we need a trinity to explain the universe? Can't we just call on natural processes and be happy with that?

Keep god in the picture and we have something from nothing (something that always existed in some way). Take god out of the picture and we have the same thing. If we think about it long enough, it makes our heads go wacky. i used to try and figure this out when I was a kid and was happy when I found others later on who appreciated what the implications of this mystery were. My friend -- who is atheistic like me -- thought he had it all solved by just referring to the various cosmologies (big bang, infinite cycle of universe creation/destruction) until I spent 10 minutes with him, getting to the underlying mystery. And then he began to see what the enormity of it....

God is:
A developed Deity to help people who have lost faith within themselves or need replacement for faith they have never had,
It is an insurance of controlling the masses "control the mind and own the bodies"
God was created for religious purposes to control people and control the governing of people.
Religion is Re-Legion. Designed to control growing masses of people and keep them subservient to the causes of that said religion.
"Govern the beliefs of the masses through re-legioning them under a God that is more powerful than a King and you will gain utter control. Those that will not follow must die!"
These words were written by Augustine and by Constantine.
Our Temples and Templars had to dig holes to hide in.
Life sucked!
In Re-legioning the masses a god had to prove itself and by gum it did.
540 ad a comet passes the earth close enough for the earth to pass through it's tail. Catholicism leaps on it like flies on... well you know. Now god is proved and the rest of the Dark ages swings with the ropes of righteousness around the necks of Wizards, witches, priests and monks that were not Christian.
God had come to earth. Religion had gained it's foothold and killed to keep it.
God = Governing through Omnipotent Deity.
I am in so much trouble... Templars read my posts. But I have answered your question, Honestly.

They will say God's eternal, but you can use the same argument for the universe. They can say God arose from nothing, but you can use the same argument for the universe. Your question demonstrates the violation of Okhams Razor the Cosmological Argument makes.
Edit: I'm not saying God doesn't exist, I'm just saying it's a bad argument for it, and you're question is a good one.

Some people perceive the universe as being god which is called Pantheism which I think is a wonderful idea but its been rejected by orthodox Christian theologians
