My wedding dress is actually white with ice blue on top pleated with varying colors of blue embroidered flowers through the white bottom would it look okay if I had the girls in different style dresses(i want them to be comfortable in their own style) and in varying blues maybe pale/baby blue and periwinkle up to navy and midnight blue

Sounds beautiful.

Just make sure that it is all shades of the same hue. You can go from a very pale ice blue - to a near black navy, but if they hue is off, they won't look right. (You don't want a dress that looked blue in the store to look green next to the others, etc.)

For cohesiveness sake, you want it to look like one blue color that has had either had white or black added to it. (For what I mean, think of a paint chip - it is usually pale-dark versions of the same color). You just hold up the dresses all together to each other and see if it visually works before you commit to any dress. Also, try to have it smoothly transition so that the "steps" between each dress is even. Don't go from ice blue to pale blue then leap to dark navy.

Good Luck!

Well, a lighter color would be best given the darker navy. Yellow Lavender Light Blue Orange Red Gold Silver Since it's in the summer, a brighter color would probably be your best bet, like an orange or red hue.

As most of the people before me have said, it's your wedding and you can your bridesmaids where whatever you like. I think it sounds fabulous. Just remember to get fabric swatches if possible so you can coordinate the groomsmen's ties and cummerbunds to the dress of the bridesmaid he'll be accompanying back up the aisle. And blue is an easy color to mix and match shades of, so I think you'll be just fine.

no because you know people wear white because they are virgin no that is they rule of the white dress but every one is not pure so they can not where a white dress,if they did then it would be a lie about the white dress and the purity that is signifies. so basically the lighter the dress the better you are off in the eyes of others so lets say Paris Hilton gotten married then that girl would need to wear a black dress cause we all know she is not saint Mary darker colors are a big no no n less your name is Paris Hilton or Lil Kim

I think that sounds lovely. Actually, great minds think alike because my bridesmaids are going to be in shades of blue. Congrats and good luck.
