depends when, how, and where he give you the compliment.
no, that doesn't necessary mean he has crush on you. it might be he like you ---as friend or as more romantic way.
or he could be just want to be nice and give the nice compliment to you. or might not be true compliemnt.
best way to react:
smile and say Thank you.
that's it.
don't take the compliment as any sign of he like you, he this and that. take it as just a simple nice gesture.
if he like you, he will let you know. trust me.
same thing with if someone give you a critizing, be thankful that someone tell you what you can improve (possiblely can improved, depends if the critized is really true or accure but still a great oppunitity to improve)

Just say, "Thank you." Whether the compliment is from him or anyone else.
Maybe he's trying to tell you he likes your hair and you look nice. Guys don't hide meaning in their words like gals do.
