Hun, I can't tell you the name of a good, inexpensive vet in you area, but why don't you try calling the local pound and see if they have a vet they recommend? Usually the vets that work with the pounds will charge less than some of the other ones. I know here in Florida, the SPCA have their own health and wellness clinic. And their prices are great!

Your mistake was asking that along with the dreaded CROPPING!! There are too many "bunny huggers" that don't like that kind of thing.
You need to call around and ask some vets if they do it, and then if you find tham they can give you a price. You can also call a local kennel club and ask them for a name. Or ask someone you see walking a cropped dog.
Sorry, I do not live in Chicago, so I cannot be of more help.

I totally agree with chihuahua lady! We had a vet in our area who would charge next to nothing for vaccines. He was recently closed down because he hadn't been paying the sales tax or his regular taxes to the government for years, among other things! They suspended his license. Wow, maybe regular vets could pass on the savings to pet owners if they didn't have to pay sales tax on items they sell or tax on medications, vaccines or equipment they purchase. Hiring technicians who come in off the street and learn by on-the-job training, instead of actually go to school to become certified, could shave a few dollars off our client's bills. But then again, would you want someone like that monitoring your pet under anesthesia?

Call your local Humane Society and ask them.
Just because nobody was able to answer you in 12 minutes, you get all upset. What's with that? This is just a free forum, not 411.

Cheap vets are often cheap for a reason. They are quacks. When you have a pet, you need a good vet, not a cheap one.
