I know how you feel, my hair was the same way. I tried a couple of different hairstyles, with layers and with the scrunching to keep it curly, which gave me the infamous 80s hair :p . I ended up cutting it all off. I think if you want you hair to straighten a little you should let it grow. If you want massive volume i would cut some layers, it all depends on how you want it to look. If you decide you want your hair to grow out a little more you can always put it in pigtail braids or a bun which is easy to keep your hair out of your face, or even get it relaxed at a salon. All in all i think your best bet is to find some pictures you like, cut them out, and bring them to the salon with you. Your hairstylist will be able to tell you which ones will work best with your hair type. Good luck :)

My hair sounds like yours, just get layers at the end of your hair it will make it look and feel not so thick then you could just wash, dry, and go or flat iron when you have time. Also use Dove intense moisture shampoo/conditioner and Dove smooth and soft anti frizz cream. and check this out

Keep it all one length and try spraying with an antifrizz in the morning and blowdrying frizzease worked well for one of my highschool friends that had the same problem.

Well my sister just straightened hers. Like at a salon and it stays straight for a while. I guess to maintain it use a straightener or some kind of conditioner?

try using a frizz control spray first and then pull it back into a half ponytail and with a clip (fancy or regular) hold it there. simple, easy, and sophisticated.
