Love / Hate relationships involve a lot of passion and emotion between two people who are more than likely polar opposites.

They're attracted to each other, but can't stand the little things about each other or have completely different mind set. As well as a very strong picture of what the person they're with is supposed to be like, yet the person they are with doesn't represent this at all. But the commitment is already there.

People can have these types of relationship and they can last a long time, since the love emotion is very strong to where they don't want to be without that person, yet the hate emotion is also there. Suck since the anger emotion tends to make things very turbulent.

Of course they can...that's where the phrase "love/hate relationship" came from...

It's when you cannot stand someone or the things they do, but you are attracted to them for some reason nonetheless...but it doesn't have to be directed toward a person...

"A love-hate relationship is a personal relationship between humans or organizations, or figuratively between a human and an inanimate object, like a computer, a field of study, a body of ideas, or a profession, involving simultaneous or alternating emotions of love and enmity. This relationship does not have to be of a romantic nature.

This can also be simplified to say the person loves the other person/object, but hates oneself for it."

You fall in love--they do something that you hate after you fell.
This is very common. Everyone always hides things from each other--not always on purpose either.
Or they cheat, lie and on purpose try to make you jealous.
You'll end up hating someone after they do some of that stuff--but you're still in love with them.

Two poeple can like each other and not admit it , but they have something about the other that they just can't stand. That can alsomake them attracted to theother too. That reminds me of the show "Moonlighting" with Bruse Wilis and Cybil Shepard

Very definitely, but the best way to handle it is when the "hate" is uppermost in your mind, go out for a walk, by yourself, and think of all the good sides of the relationship--works for me
