Here is a nice little trick that can help you out some: go to any law school's website and look at the faculty listing, in most cases the faculty will have available online a copy of their CV -- this is basically an academic resume -- so it will list their education, their career path (via their jobs), any publication they have produced, any recognition (like awards) they have received, and it will also list any associations/organizations of which they are a member. Look at several different law schools and about 10-15 CV and you will get a basic jest of what most lawyers careers look like. Then choose a resume format that you like and just create one based on different snippets of the ones you've looked at. Another idea you can try is go to the your state's local Bar Association's website and see if they have links to different lawyer's resumes available and look at those. One piece of advice ... remember that you want it to look professional for a law firm so try to stay away from pre-formatted resumes that use a lot of formatting like italics or cursive lettering. Keep the resume clean, the resume is your way of selling your talents -- don't use "fluff" to do that, your accomplishments will do that just fine.

There are many different formats you can use for a resume. If you do a Google or Yahoo search for 'resume guide', you will get a lot of sites with useful information.

Give this one a try...
