Yes a bit, on the beginning it hurts more but after not so much, its not any kind of unbearable pain, only a minor inconvinience, and in the end of the day its well worth it

No, it might be a bit uncomfortable for a day or two at first, but a single Advil will take care of that. My 9 yr old just got her phase 1 braces off after almost two years and she had a "cage" and an "expander" and a "night" brace...and now her teeth are just beautiful!! And she is so proud of her "new" smile. Good luck.

Braces can be painful when they are put on and every time the wire is changed. The pain won't kill you, but you may have trouble eating for a day or two. Make sure you have a good supply of a pain reliever (tylenol. advil, aspirin). Whatever works best for you. Take some before you go to the ortho and then a few hours afterwards to keep the pain minimal.

Ok i have mine on still and when they first go on yeah they will hurt. Take some advil or something and the pain will go away within a few days. Also try to eat soft foods because it hurts just to bit down. And just think take care of your teeth and if you are getting top and bottom braces when you start to wear rubber bands WEAR THEM!!!! I regret it i got to where mine another 4 months. But lemme say something all my friends tell me its the best felling ever to have them off and your teeth look great then

I got Braces last feb. while you are getting them on, there is a little discomfort, but mine didnt hurt to get on.

After about 2 hours your gums will hurt from the rubbing of the braces against them. They might bleed, but that is necessary.

It will hurt like hell to eat for the next couple of days...just pack some yogurt or apple sause for lunch for those days.

And after a while your mouth will get used to them...they will get caught on your gum every once in awhile...but you will get used to it....

And try not to break them...now THAT hurts

Somewhat, but only somewhat. Teeth tightening can be a bit weird. But orthodontia is nothing like the dark ages when they were experimenting on folks such as my wife, who spent six years in braces, with intermittent agony, and still has crooked teeth.

when they actually put them on, it doesn't hurt, but the glue they use smells really bad. the only time it hurts is when you get them tightened. that sucks. i used to get little blisters in my mouth from the brackets too. but just remember that when it's all over your teeth will be awesome!

I feel no pain, not even when my wires are changed. I was told to use Advil should I feel any pain. I'm also an adult and I'm getting used to these things... it's really not that bad.
