No I don't think I would because retardation and handicaps are only physical things. I believe the spirits of those people are totally normal and they just can't express themselves in the physical. I think some children are born that way to humble people and teach them to love and care for even a handicapped person. Don't get me wrong I hope my children come out normal but I don't think there is anything that could make me lose faith in God.

Nope why should they. People who are born with disabilities have disabilities because of some sort of genetic deffect. Most disabilities derive from some genetic errossion and or other environmental influences. But that does not mean they are less loved or you should loose yur faith.

I was born with a congestical heart problem. All my life I have been in and out thehospital. Have I lost my faith in God no! Id rather strengthen me to go through every step of surgery ( already had 3), through every health attack I been trhough.

A part of faith is that you don't question. That's why it's faith. If you have faith in the existence of God, you must have faith that the ways of God, while mysterious, are in place for a reason.

this may be hard to accept, but a child is truly a blessing no matter what her condition may be.
if she's pretty and perfect, can you be sure she won't hurt you in the future for running away with her junkie boyfriend ?
if she's handicapped, ask this to your self "are you really ashamed of her being or are YOU ashamed of yourself for having her since your friends have better children ?

It's a tough thing to care for a physically or mentally-challenged child. I don't think any of us would really know what it's like until we experience it first hand. I respect the families whom God has chosen to have such precious children...
