Divinity has no division. Any doctrine which is for overall welfare of beings is Good. Sometimes its good to retaliate with force, at other times its better to keep quiet.

B. Jesus said, that if someone hits you on the cheek turn to him the other also. Retaliation brings us under bondage to hate, bitterness and will work to kill us, the enemy surely would love to kill us with bitterness and anger, hate and whatever goes with it, which makes a person ill. That's why Jesus said to pray for our enemies and forgive those that hurt you. This lets us be free and have life more abundant.
Let me tell you the person that does evil is under the grip of the enemy and needs to be freed, to let the prisoner go free we need to turn the other cheek. There are other parts to when you attacked and if you are at war so these should be consider, so study and show yourself approved unto God and not Man.

Matthew 5:38-39 says  “YOU heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye and tooth for tooth.’  However, I say to YOU: Do not resist him that is wicked; but whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other also to him.  Here Jesus was not teaching pacifism or denying the right of self-defense from bodily harm, but he was teaching that a Christian does not need to pay back blow for blow, retaliating, taking vengeance. He was inculcating the principle of avoiding quarrels by not replying or reacting in kind. A slap on the cheek is not intended to injure physically but only to insult or to provoke into a fight. Jesus did not say that if someone strikes a Christian on the jaw, he should get up off the floor and hold the other side of his face for a target. What Jesus was saying was that if anyone tried to provoke a Christian into a fight or argument by either slapping him with an open hand or stinging him with insulting words, it would be wrong to retaliate. This is in harmony with the statements of the apostles, giving further emphasis to this principle.—Romans 12:17-21Return evil for evil to no one. Provide fine things in the sight of all men. 18 If possible, as far as it depends upon YOU, be peaceable with all men. 19 Do not avenge yourselves, beloved, but yield place to the wrath; for it is written: “Vengeance is mine; I will repay, says Jehovah.” 20 But, “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by doing this you will heap fiery coals upon his head.” 21 Do not let yourself be conquered by the evil, but keep conquering the evil with the good. 1Peter 3:9.not paying back injury for injury or reviling for reviling, but, to the contrary, bestowing a blessing, because YOU were called to this [course], so that YOU might inherit a blessing.

Both doctrines have merit.
But As I Christian we are commanded to defend our family. This extends to our nation and our neighbors, who ever they are.
