1) Is recycling paper and putting it in the newspaper bin OK? I recycle paper, not news articles.

2) Will recycling actually help? I'm afraid that recycling will be no use if they use more fossil fuels to process it and burn resources than not recycling.

1) Yes paper is paper, and all paper can be recycled. The recycling company doesn't care what's written on it.

2) Recycling paper reduces the need to cut, transport, and process trees (which takes energy), so yes you are actually helping use less fossil fuel if you recycle.

2.) Recycling is economically driven, recycling will only take place when it is cheaper to recycle than it is to process the materials from its natural/original source.

it might cost more in some cases considering the laws passed in some areas(but usually it offers a savings in raw material and acres of woodland for wild species), but consider that in 20 years it would cost more if we didn't reuse things and ran short on raw materials
