Everyone does it and everyone wants it but why? I mean it's nice to be loved... it's REALLY nice to be loved, but you're most likely not going to marry the person, it's a slim chance. I just don't understand the point of it!

I agree with you its just one of those things people do but dont really know why they do it. I think even people out of high school date with no intentions of getting married. I think its more so just to be with someone to feel loved and cared for, but many of them end up with broken hearts on Yahoo Answers asking what to do

Dating in high school, though it seems pointless, it is not...You learn more about yourself, your likes and dislikes in men and find out what you want out of a relationship and a potiental mate...Believe me, it can seem just as pointless when you are out of high school too...But you should not date just to date...even with that you learn something about yourself.

dating in high school prepares you for the dating world after high school... usually in high school you can figure out what works and what doesn't so you don't end up acting like a total moron on your first college date

There is none. The most important thing about high school is the SCHOOL part, and you can't be derailed from that by dating. I don't know why more people don't get this.

to me datin while in hogh school is a way of learnin from mistakes and also growin and gettin ready for life wise relationships.but if you dont date then i dont know whats wrong with you....
