It really bothers me when people decide where to put a tattoo based on where it supposedly "hurts the least."

Here's the deal:

It's your body. And a tattoo will be on your body for the rest of your life.

Why would you decide where to put it just because of the pain?
Yes, the tattoo will hurt while you are having it done. That's what happens when a needle pushes ink into your skin.
But once it's done, you'll have a beautiful piece of art on your body.

If you decide to get it where you're told it's the least painful, you'll probably be kicking yourself for that decision later.

And besides, pain is different for everyone. So no matter how many opinions you get when asking this question, it all comes down to how well you tolerate the pain.

The lower back hurts less. I got a tat on my lower back and it took 3 hours... My cousin got one on her chest and she was crying for a little bit

Mine is one my chest over my heart. The tattooist stated that that is a very tender spot. My daughters on her lower back was extremely painful. It all depends on how well you can tolerate pain and how much bone they are going over. The parts on the bones really really are more sensitive.
