YES I follow you there that thick hair is sometimes toooooo annoying!!!! But you can probably try this: find a shampoo and conditioner set that is supposed to "smooth down hair" or possible down its poof. I LOVE Sunsilk, Garnier Frictis, and Dove shampoos and conditioners. Rememebr to switch brands approximately every 3 months or less so your hair does not become accustomed to the treatment and starts rejecting it. GOOD LUCK!

The best thing to do is layer your hair. I have long, coarse, african american hair. I could never go without a relaxer. But people are so amazed by how healthy and long my hair is for my ethnicity. When i first got layers i almost cried, because i thought it would take away from the length, but it made rolling my hair easier, and feel a lot lighter. Appreciate the thickness. i learned to. funny story, this white girl i worked with asked to touch my hair because she was curious, i think she didnt believe it was real. but she didnt just touch it, she pulled it, to see if it would come out. my mom said i should have went off on her, but i let ignorant people remain that way. i took it as a compliment and kept on moving. i weave my hair short, so that i dont have to commit to the shortness, it looks a lot like my animated picture. try maxiglide @ bed, bath, and beyond. convinced two people to buy it and they didnt even see my own results. its great
