i live in Western Massachusetts ,and i found a pale white egg in the woods. I found it on the ground, and it has already ahtched. The egg is 65 by 43mm. I have know clue what it is, i am getting reall annoyed. I was wondeinr if anyone would be able to tell what this is by my desription, and if you can't, do you know of an egg identification webiste. Oh, and i asked the mass audubahn, and they think that it could possibly be an owls egg, but they arent' sure.It is about the same size as a chicken egg, but the color is different slightly, and i dont know of any wild chickens! If yo ucan awnser my quesiton, that would be excellent!

I understand what you are saying, I found a pale blue eggshell walking my dog years ago. It is probably a robin's egg, I kept it and made it part of a 3-dimensional painting.

Back to your egg. I found a site, http://www.skullsunlimited.com/bird-eggs.htm
that shows replicas of eggs. You have to scroll to almost the bottom for owl eggs, but shown are eggs for barn, great-horned, Eastern screech and snowy owls.

Hehehe - reminds me of the time I found a couple of eggs on the ground. took them home, and a couple of days later they hatched..... a pair of snakes.

Are the eggs hard like chicken eggs, or are they soft and leathery?
