I think almost everyone is afraid of rejection but most hide it. I tink the reason is becasue if someone rejects you then you may think there is something wrong with you and that maybe no one will want to go out with you for whatever reason it is. People are people and everyone has flaws. Don't be afraid to take a risk and ask someone out.

Us guys have a little something called pride and confidence. When guys are rejected, it takes a either huge or tiny hit at our confidence. Some guys take it hard, but others think less of it and ask another. It all depends on the guy. Not all guys are afraid of rejection.

Ego is one reason but I don't think fear of rejection is only a guy thing. I mean a few and I mean a very few women have ever asked me out. The majority flirt with me and wait and see if I make a move and ask them out.

because rejection hurts. when a guy really likes a girl and she says no to him, it really hurts. you cant stop thinking about her and how much you want to be with her. they are afraid of the pain that will come from rejection. also, guys think girls wont like them especially in their teens. its hard to think that a girl will really like you unless you know for sure. they feel nervous and afraid and cant stop thinking about her but are so afraid that they cant do it because of the pain.

Because some girls are so mean and rude about it, that the guys feel bad about themselves and don't want to risk rejection again (because they'll begin to feel worse). Wrecks everything for the girls with manners that exist out here.

because their ego doesn't want to face the possibilty of not being wanted. If they are not wanted they want to know why good luck on getting a straight answer from a girl on this one they know it hurts you to reject you so they think they are doing you a favor by ignoring you

If ur in highschool-u wood kno. theres a thing called rep. (reputation) when a guy asks a girl out he starts off with a 100% rep. if the girl rejects him his rep goes down. when ur rep goes down far enough people stop even thinking about going out with you. and most of this is subconscial but thats pretty much y guys r scared to ask out girls

We are because.. well with me at least.. I ask out people I have talked to and all and continue to talk to.. and if we do get turned down.. then you girls might act weird about it.. or at least how I think.
In simpler terms.. I don't want to screw up a friendship.
Maybe that's why?

guys react differently to things like that. for girls it hurts your feelings. for guys its more of a blow to the ego. feelings, disappointment, it all ties in to ego. it makes us feel venerable and week. its our nature to want to avoid such things where as girls are more hopeful and open to things like that.
