I'm 13, and my height is around 1.57 m..

My mother told me to swim laps..She said that is one way to grow taller..

What are other ways??And is what she said true??

You are genetically pre programed to grow to a certain height. Their is nothing you can do to extend that. If you get sick or have poor habits such as smoking, poor nutrition, substance abuse, it can stunt your growth and you won't grow as tall as you should have. The best thing to do is to have a healthy life style. Get lots of calcium, you can do that by drinking lots of milk. Your body absorbs calcium best when you have enough vitamin D so make sure you get out in the sun for at least 15 minutes every day. If you live in an area of the country like I do, where we can go weeks with out seeing the sun. Take a vitamin supplement (after checking with your doctor). Eat a variety of fruits and veggies. Get your regular check ups, and get lots of exercise (such as swimming laps and lifting weights - yes girls can lift weights too). Stay away from smoking, drug use, or alcohol use. At 13 you still have a few good growing years left.

Umm you may settle for the certainty that its merely not that straightforward, in any different case all of us could be in the pool. growing to be is a genetic element. in case you mothers and dads arent tall then you definately're in all probability not gonna be tall the two except they have a recessive gene (are human beings in ur family individuals tall?) would not be what you wanna hear yet its the certainty. perhaps as a substitute of being a runway sort, you would be a well being sort that's merely as stable! terrific of success!
