Carol M I do not see where you are going with your answer, what has that got to do with the trinity?

Nice own personal opinion guitar teacher but I want historical and scriptural evidence of the trinity.

Morning Gloria, The trinity has had a similar history to easter and christmas.
It was to algamate the roman empire which had pagan beliefs to christianity.
The roman empire military was failing so they tried to hold on to power by religion.
Easter and pagan fertility rituals were married to Jesus death and resurrection.
Christmas and winter solstice rituals were married with Jesus's birth.
Pagan triunes were married with God to make God, Jesus and holy power as each a head of God.

The Jews never recognised a triune in all their history they recognise Jesus's coming but not the Jesus that came. But never have Jews recognised a trinity of the true God. This was brought in by later in the 4th century to the the roman leaders to hold on to their crumbling empire.
Those are facts.

First, I don't think it's correct to say that Constantine "guided" the development of the trinity, the doctrine was already accepted by most in the Western Church long before Nicea. Constantine didn't demand that the Church adopted the doctrine, he demanded that the Church adopted a doctrine. Any doctrine. In other words, that it would agree upon one doctrine amongst the many on offer, including the doctrine of the Trinity but also the doctrine of arianism which was held by some in the Church The reason for this demand was that disagreements in the Church were causing public unrest, including riots and murders. The 4th Century (much like the 3rd) was a time of great unrest in the Empire and this was one argument that the Emperor could do without. So he called the Council and told the Bishops to agree on a doctrine by majority vote. By a large majority they adopted the doctrine of the Trinity and rejected Arianism (a perfectly predictable result). So the trinity became official Church dogma and Arianism became heresy. As for assimilating "tri-god pagan" worshippers, such religions weren't a big deal in Rome, nothing like they were in ancient Egypt or Sumeria for example. Trinities are often associated with the city-state level of political development, normally representing treaties between states or marriages between ruling families. Rome had gone beyond that state of development centuries before. The most popular state religion at the time of Constantine was the worship of Sol, which was not associated with any trinity

The text that stands behind the King James Bible was translated by a man called Erasmus on translating the text he read there are 3 witnesses in heaven the spirit the water and the blood ,the same as it had been read before by others
this caused an uproar in the Catholic Church who demanded he translated it as there are 3 witnesses in heaven the father the word and the holy spirit .Erasmus refused to change his translation as he said no existing known manuscript said that
IN 1520 a scribe in oxford called Roy made such an Greek MS (codex 61, now in Dublin) and this was then included in the Bible ,but later proved to be a fake
since then only a very few manuscripts have ever come to light mentioning the trinity and none of them written earlier than the 16th century
This is fact and not the only thing in the Bible the Catholics are known to have altered to fit in with what they preached.

The Coptic Church of Alexandria has worshiped the Trinity since it's founding in the late first century.

Also the Church of St Thomas in India has had similar beliefs since the first century.

The main reason why many records of Catholic and Greek Orthodox practices are hard to trace past Constantine was because he de-criminalised Christianity, before him Christianity was an illegal religion and thus a lot of early reccords were destroyed.

If you look further into the matter you will find that Arius of Alexandria tried to disprove the trinity over a decade before Constatine was declared Emperor (in York). If Arius was to attempt to disprove the divinity of Christ as a part of the trinity this implies the belief was already pretty well established within the church at this point.

I already have. What is your point? King James commissioned the King James Bible...its still a valid Bible. Constantine did not himself invent the trinity, he called together the religious scholars of the day to the Nicene conference. It was actually 200 more years before many of these concepts were completed and agreed upon. Why do you care if some of us CHOOSE to believe in the Trinity...you afraid of the number 3. Or just afraid you are wrong. If you want reference information, which is not what you asked for, then go find it...the search will do you good.

The Trinitarian doctrine existed before the reign of Constantine and it had been an issue for many years among Christian believers. The Council of Necia in AD 325, I believe, took up the debate. The large majority of the bishops and clergy believed the doctrine to be true Church teaching and made it official. There were some that didn't believe and separated from the main stream of thought on the matter.

Fear

The way we are…happens because…most of us, literally, and en mass, enable it, too because from innocent birth most are plugged into or through some form of narrow compliance, or another.

Merely programmed appliances draining nature. While mutual wellness, communal abundance, and evolving spirit is abused, bullied, depleted and disregarded.

Humility is not humanities strong suit.

We make up and hold our images, conceptions, and creations highest.

Yet at the same time most individuals are herded like cattle, summoned to perform and commit in the name of deity and regime...Dependent upon, conducive with, and obsessed toward, singular, self-serving and selfish acquirement.

Whatever name chosen. The essence, spirit, or substance of humanity is not in sync with evolving creations collective orientation.

Existing outside of mutual benefit is fatal, and eventually final, trinity or not.

Any species, group, or individual within, is forbidden from tilting fulcrum and swaying balance toward the betterment or sustenance of their beings alone.

Yet throughout our stays and ways, evolving within and throughout a spirit of accumulating conscientiousness, has proven beyond human concern.

No, jurisdiction, predisposition, justification, individual, group, or species; may relentlessly burden.

Existence exists, without any desire to be abused by indifference.

If we do not admit addiction, preoccupation, obsession, and confusion, amongst ever varying, opposing, and destructive ways, very few, if any, will survive.

This is not rocket science.

Most stubbornly huddle in chattel to motive’s device.

Most exist outside fundamental inter-connection incommunicado. Detached, distant, sanctimonious, oblivious, argumentative, destitute, and destructive even in the face of reality.

Yet, one on one, without pretence, predisposition and greed, most seem nice enough.

So just what is going on, why are we satisfied by being such cling-ons and ****-ups?

It is tough enough to make it as a species in the first place without all our bullshit.

Conception of any, yields to effect upon every and no matter our perceived dominance or stated affirmation, or brainwashing or patriotism.

This bears repeating, conception of any, yields to effect upon every.

Few adapt and assimilate within humble and inter, relationship as the arguments rage on.

It matter’s not what or whose side any are on.

It matters not: place, time, shift in persuasion, or perception of power.

No, person, idol, icon, idea, or, ideal alone, gives, or, grants, absolution.

Mutually accommodating sway perpetuates beyond.

Validity prevails.

Here is the origin of the Trinity...

Genesis 1:26 And God said, "LET US MAKE MAN AFTER OUR LIKENESS AFTER OUR IMAGE" and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

The Trinity is God the Father, God the Son,Jesus, and God the Holy Ghost. All three of them where there right in the very beginning. All three are one in the same with God.

No how many times this question is asked, the answer will always remain the same.

A more appropiete question would be why don't Christians research the pagan origins of their Christmas and Easter?

Actually your information is quite incorrect. The foundation of such doctrine is found in Scripture which precedes the 4th century.

If you truly research it, you will find that the teaching was begun by Jesus Himself, and carried on by His disciples, Paul, James and so on. It was taught consistently by their successors. Constantine just gave his blessing to the council that formulated the official statement of faith.
