It's 2003 Far Niente. I'm not a wine drinker, so any advice you can offer is helpful.
Thanks.

I searched a few tasting notes and the reviews ranged from fair the very good. The vintage charts from 2003 indicate that 2003 was an outstanding year for California Chards. That suggests to me that the style of the wine is one that appeals to some people and not to others. For instance many people profess a dislike of any oakiness in a white wine while I find oak in a strong white very pleasant.

The best I can suggest is it has the potential to be a great wine, if it appeals to your tastes.

Far Niente is excellent Chardonnay. That particular vintage is perfect for drinking RIGHT NOW. Your friend obviously thinks highly of you.

Hell Yea'! I've got a box of it in my fridge...just be sure to take an IBprofin the first couple of times you drink it cause it can give you a killer headache in the mornin' if you're not used to it. Great buzz tho! It's a hit or miss...either you like it or you think it tastes like piss (but no worse then a corona..lol!) Make sure it's cold, and if you don't like it at all, then don't write it completely off...it might just be the brand. Me---I can drink a bottle plus and hang all night...some people bring a 12pack to chill...I bring a box of wine...lol! I have been lovingly dubbed...WINO =)

If you like when you drink it, then it's good. If you don't, then it's not so good for you.

Unfortunately, price is no great guide. Other people's opinions can't predict your palate.

Give it a chill (not too cold), serve it with a salmon steak or a grilled lobster, and enjoy. Have some decent brewskies as back-up, if you aren't enjoying it.
